Interesting interpretation of Alan Watts! It reminds me of Nietzsche that the complexity of reality arises from the two opposite forces: Apollo (the good, the clear, the gentle) and Dionysus (the evil, chaotic, fuzzy) It makes sense to think of life as opposites since everything is interrelated. As a sidenote, I think Einstein said that cold doesn't exist because cold is just the absence of heat, so cold is defined as a lack of heat. But then you could say that heat is the absence of cold (using the same logic) . If we take into account that the sun gives heat, then heat depends on the sun and cold depends on the lack of the sun giving us heat. It is sort of tricky but interesting to think about!
